Igloo Cool Mum

• ***Note***: If you have followed us since this spring you remember our 'tricky' mums that bloomed white instead of magenta. We had hopes they would bloom the expected color this fall. Well, the Igloo Cool mums are blooming again this fall and are...white! They aren't what we had expected or hoped for, but they are still very beautiful.

• Hardy Perennial Garden Mum : Plant size and bloom stage will vary at time of purchase. Spring grown mums will be quite a bit smaller at first, but will continue to grow to their mature size by fall.  Mature size: 2' Tall x 2'-3' Wide, Pink/Purple blooms

• Plant Right Away: For optimal root growth and winter resilience, plant your mum as soon as possible in well drained soil and fertilize until buds appear. Early planting encourages strong, healthy roots.

• Bloom Times: This variety can potentially bloom twice a year—once in late May/early June and again in September/October. Bloom time may vary based on day length, as mums are sensitive to light and require shorter days to trigger blooming.

• Cut Back in June/July: To maintain a dense plant, simply cut the plant about one-third to half way back. This should be done 1-3 times no later than July 4th to ensure it will bloom in the fall.

• Consistent Moisture: Ensure the plant receives consistent moisture to prevent wilting. Check the soil moisture by digging 1-2 inches into the soil at the base of the plant. Rainfall is not always enough depending on the location your mum is planted and how dense the foliage is. 

• Water at the Base: Water the base of the plant to keep the foliage dry, as wet leaves can lead to disease.
